Rote memorization and spoon-fed learning are not compatible with 21st Century Learning. But despite several years of pushing higher, more rigorous instructional strategies for all students, we are still struggling to tap to into our students unlimited critical thinking potential, especially for our African American students.

This is why we couldn’t be more excited to have our Training & Curriculum Manager, Sarah Pfeiler, present at The Texas Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE) conference to show educators rigorous and engaging inquiry strategies that bring the Socratic method to life.

Sarah’s session is entitled, “Making the 21st Century Shift from “What” and “How to” to “Why” and “What If”: Practical & Powerful Inquiry Strategies to Teach Critical Thinking to All Students. This interactive session showcasing our highly engaging and academically rigorous TEKS-aligned program will leave educators with practical tools for tapping into their students’ inherent sense of justice and fairness across grade levels and subject areas, and force educators to rethink the current narrative of critical thinking that reserves this crucial skill set as a luxury good for the most elite students.

thinkLaw has been approved in 14 Texas districts, so join Sarah on Thursday, February 22nd from 2:15pm-3:30pm in the Ponderosa room and at booth #24 to learn more about how thinkLaw is leading the critical thinking revolution!
